Applying to Illinois during the CPS strike Heres what you need to know.

Applying to Illinois during the CPS strike Heres what you need to know. If you attend a Chicago Public School and are hoping to meet our early action deadline of November 1, Im here to provide some reassurance related to our application process. The first bit of good news is this: Youre going to provide almost all of the information we need for your application yourself. Youll self-report both your courses and test scores, meaning we dont need your high school to send us your transcript. We also dont consider letters of recommendation. This means the only thing we may need from your counselor is a fee waiver, if youre eligible for one. Thats where the second bit of good news comes in: If youre eligible for a fee waiver, you can still apply before our early action deadline of November 1, and your counselor can submit your fee waiver upon their return. Our office will continue to monitor the status of the strike. If necessary, well be making exceptions for fee waivers submitted after November 1 so youll still be considered for early action. A quick note: If youre eligible for an application fee waiver, please do not submit payment when you apply. In this case, we cant refund you, even we receive your waiver later. I hope this has helped to relieve any stress you may have had. If you have more questions, please dont hesitate toemail our officeor call us at 217-333-0302. Were always here to help!
